Caroline Cotto is a French visual artist born in Nice in 1991. She studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, where she began exploring various mediums with a focus on color.

Cotto’s art practice is characterized by a profound investigation of color and light, influenced by her experiences living in several European cities, including Nice, Paris, Eindhoven, London, Lisbon, and Rome. These experiences have shaped her unique approach to light, allowing her to explore it from multiple perspectives.

Her work delves into the balance between movement and rootedness, using color and landscape to evoke feelings of home, belonging, and emotion. Inspired by travel and nature, Cotto’s intuitive paintings merge the familiar with the unknown, inviting viewers to reflect on these themes. While her works vary in form and approach, they are united by an ongoing exploration of color, rhythm, and emotion, allowing for a dynamic and ever-evolving practice.

Cotto has exhibited her work both individually and collectively in art spaces and institutions across France and internationally. Notable exhibitions include Object Rotterdam (2019), Design Museum-Gent (2021), Tripostal-Lille (2021), Solarium-Marseille (2022), and Centre Culturel la Coupole-La Gaude (2023).

She currently works between Nice and Lisbon.
