Exploration entre ciel et terre

This series of paintings explores the delicate relationships between the different layers of the landscape and the constant interactions that unite the sky, the earth, and the water. It seeks to make perceptible the subtle phenomena that connect these elements: the breath of the wind, the evaporation of water, the heat that distorts the air, mist, and variations in light. Invisible or nearly so, these movements ensure a constant flow between the elements and contribute to the fragile balance of landscapes.Color serves as the guiding thread of this exploration. It becomes a means of translating light, evoking specific moments of the day idealized such as the first light of dawn or the onset of night. The paintings exist on the edge of representation, where the landscape remains recognizable while leaving room for a subjective interpretation.Inspired by landscapes encountered during my travels, these works do not seek to depict a specific place. Rather, they arise from the memory of sensations: a light, a temperature, a color, or a lingering impression. The landscape thus becomes a space where the visible and the invisible meet. This series invites us to pay attention to what escapes immediate view and questions both our perception of places and the memories we retain of them.
